Standing out
One thing I’ve noticed is that, generally speaking, ADHDers are a lot more comfortable standing out, going against the crowd, and resisting authority.
We’re less likely to be yes-people, and more likely to be direct and honest, even when it’s unpopular.
That’s not universally true, of course. Depending on when you were diagnosed and how your ADHD story played out, you might actually be a people pleaser who says sorry too much and goes with the crowd (to avoid the pain of rejection—no shame in it!).
But you’re just as likely to be used to being the weirdo. The odd one out.
And if that’s you, it means you’ll point out that the emperor isn’t wearing clothes when no one else will.
That makes you a natural leader.
