Imagine you have some comically large number, let’s say like
7000972542 or something like that. It’s really hard to kind of figure out what that number actually is when you’re looking at it because it’s just a giant string of digits.
But because it’s a number and not a string, you can’t add commas or dots depending on where you live as the thousands indicators. So a string representation of that, every three numbers or so, you would have a comma to indicate where the breaks in that number are.
But it becomes something that’s much more visually appealing to look at and that makes it a lot easier to maintain and edit and work with as a human who’s working with this code. So anyways, that’s it for today.
