The power of knowing

Yesterday, I was talking with one of my ADHD coaching students about the power that comes from knowing you have ADHD.

If you were diagnosed as an adult, there’s that period of time before you knew you had it and period of time after. You’re not a different person. You still do the same stuff.

But knowing that you have ADHD, and viewing what you do through that lens, can be incredibly helpful.

Stuff that may have felt like a personal failing suddenly isn’t.

You’re not lazy, you’re just so painfully bored that your brain physically will not let you do a task. You’re not being rude. Your brain literally cannot both keep someone’s name in your head and listen to what they’re saying.

You’re not different, but the way you think about yourself can be.

I’m running a beta program for my ADHD coaching right now, but it’s going so well that I’m probably going to open it up to general enrollment soon. If you’re interested and want to get on the waitlist, send me an email and let me know!
