Putting less pressure on myself
When you have ADHD, you spend a lifetime being compared to neurotypical folks.
You’ll may feel like you’re lazy, or just need to work a little harder (or be told those things by others). These feelings are sometimes more internalized if you don’t get diagnosed until you’re an adult.
I have a todo list a mile long. I have so many things I’m supposed to do each day.
Some days, I’m particularly on, and get it all done and then some. Other days… not so much.
Those off days, they can really wreck your sense of self if you let them. But you can choose not to let them.
There’s no magic trick here. No easy path. No hard path. Really, not path at all.
You just… put less pressure on yourself.
It’s a decision you can make. It’s one you may even struggle with at first. But getting comfortable with not always being on is the first step to true happiness.
