How do you pick which task to do first?
You’ve picked your items to do for the day, and copied them into a separate list.
Which one do you start with first? Pick either…
- The smallest, easiest task on the list, or…
- The one you’re most excited about it.
ADHD brains have a lot of inertia.
If we’re bored, getting that brain moving towards productivity can take a lot of effort. But once we start, it’s hard to slow us down!
If the whole list seems daunting, picking the smallest, easiest task will get you moving in the direction of work. It gets the mental ball rolling, and each subsequent task becomes easier.
However, if there’s something on the list you can’t wait to start working on, do that first (for all of the same reasons).
